North London Hotel: Why Stay out of Central London

When visiting London, is it really necessary to stay in the centre? Undoubtedly the answer is no. London transport provides first class access to all areas of the capital, whether by bus, underground or overground trains.

Major London Train Stations are close to the centre but you would still need a tube or bus ride into the centre with your weekend luggage.  

While many famous landmarks are in central London and can be walked, you would have to enjoy a good stomp to get round St Pauls, The British Museum, Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden, Hyde Park and Harrods in a weekend, without buying a zone 1 travel pass.

Most visitors to London will end up buying a day pass for the tube, whether they are based in Central London or not. How else could you visit famous sights on the outer edge of zone 1 or beyond such as Notting Hill, Brick Lane?
 
If your London Leisure break involves a trip to a West End theatre, a central London Hotel may be conveniant but is it worth the extra expense?

London Theatre packages do not guarantee you will not need to catch a black cab to get back to base. It could be argued that this is part of a trip London, but then what would a trip to London be without the Tube?
